Baby Shower

BABY SHOWER

One of the good thing about pregnancy (besides having a baby) is that you get to enjoy this amazing party...I've always loved baby showers because they're really fun! You get to be crazy playing fun games and wining beautiful presents.
Mine was french tea brunch themed and couldn't be more perfect! It took place in the most beautiful garden 40 mins away from the city (so, no dirty noises yohoo!) It all started at 10 a.m with a bar of homemade sweets and bakery accompanied with a cup of tea or coffee, the typical chit chat and girly vanities. Then at 12 p.m the eating table was seated and the party begun.
There were a lot of funny games at the party, my favorite was "Guess the baby's food game";
My amazing hubby found some gross baby food for the game and at the end of the day he end up playing too because everyone told him to...the funny part was that he didn't even recognize what he bought LOL
The other game that I thought it was really cool was "What's in your purse?" there's a list of things you may have in your purse, you have to check them out if you have them, then count the points marked for every item and the person with more points WINS!! The funny part is that some of the items are unusual and others are embarrassing and you have to take them out in order to count your points.
It took us two days to put up everything for that day but it was oh soo worth it!!

(all natural flowers centerpieces and a jar of homemade macarons for the sweets bar)
(My beautiful mommy welcoming all the guests to the party)
( The Guess the baby's food game contestants)
(He bought chicken and noodles, squash, beef and veggies and carrots and peas but surprisingly the worst one was bananas)
(My hubby playing the game; you can notice his puke face LOL)
(It was funny to watch them drinking from a baby bottle)
(Some of the funny things you could have in your purse was a condoms, panties, maxi pads or food)
(They were trying too hard to win LOL)

Everyone got a beautiful present from the party even if they didn't win. Than you all for coming and having a good time with me and my family.

My Third Trimester

(My milestone from 5 1/2 months to 8 1/2 months)

SYMPTOMS & OTHER DISCOMFORTS

This is when everything went crazy. As the pregnancy was coming to the end I felt more and more unconfortable; The main reason was that my belly started to grow sooo fast that within a couple of weeks I was 50% bigger and thats when my ciatica started to bothering me soo much. Also heatburns at the middle of the night came back so I was really tired all the time.
At the begining of my 8th month I got really sick, the flu was killing me that I couldn't even get up from my bed for a week or so...it was hell but then I got a bust of energy that I started to nest. As some of you may know by this time I started to moving in to my new home so I was really busy all the time moving around stuff and going back and forth from home to home; It was healthy but at the end of the day I was sooo exhausted that only a hot shower helped to calm my soreness.

BABY SHOWER PLANNINGS

Starting this trimester everything was about the baby shower and the planning of it. My mom, my mother-in-law and I did everything and I couldn't be more happy for it.
I was lucky because I had two baby showers; The first one was in a really beautiful garden with the theme of a french tea brunch and the second one was more an intimte family baby shower, they were more than I expected to be and Im beyond grateful for everything my mom and my mother-in-law did for me and my baby and for the people (family members & friends) that showed up, I got you in a really special place in my hearth. (Also thank you for all the beautiful things you'll bought for my baby girl)

THE LAST MONTH

The last month was more a waiting game. A couple of times I thought I was in labor but they were only braxton hicks that were getting more intense as the baby's head was putting in position. I was  so heavy that I really wanted to do nothing but eating and watching movies all day, and so I did LOL
My mom did everything to take me away from the couch, she even took me to the mall a few times to walk around but all I wanted was to lay down...

My Second Trimester

The best part of the whole pregnancy is the second trimester, well at least for me it was...I was feelng really energetic and happy all the time! My belly started to show (just a little bit) and I felt my baby move for the first time.
It was wednesday january, 30 of this year when I felt her move and that made the whole thing so real; I mean, at the first trimester you see the positive pregnancy test, the ultrasounds and feel sick but somehow that's nothing compared with that new sensation of having a life inside of you.
This 3 months I tried to enjoy the blessing of being a pregnant lady, like eating whatever I want (with moderation of course), taking naps, parking in the pregnancy spots or just doing nothing at all...heaven! I spent my days most of the time in pijamas watching movies with my hubby or in the mall with my mom.
At this point I realized that The secret of a happy pregnancy is behind of all those cliches that mom and grandma used to say!

My First Trimester

You know how everybody says that pregnancy is amazing and you get a magical glow with it? Well, I call it bullshit! Don't get me wrong at some point all the problems goes away and maybe you can feel that glow flow. Thank God I never experienced morning sickness but my stomach was killing me...literally. A couple of times I rushed into the emergency room because I couldn't deal with the pain; The thing is that I always suffered from gastrointestinal problems and with the pregnancy they became worst.
The first month: Actually you don't feel anything until you miss your period, it can be right away or it can start one week before/later; Thats because a pregnancy calendar starts at the first day of your last period (in my case was September 29, 2012).
The second month: Because I decide to wait until I passed the 12 weeks mark* (except for my husband and my ob, of course) to tell everyone I was suffering in silence. My mom insisted that I was dying or something and I didn't want to tell her LOL She almost made me go to a specialist in the other side of the contry but I kept delying the trip.
Another thing that made this month the worst month of my pregnancy was that my husband's boss decided to change him to another work place and since then he has to travel back and forth every two days (sad face).
The third month: At the beggining of the third month I was still feeling like crap and I wanted to died (seriously, I was feeling that bad) The feeling of having an stomach infection 24/7 is all I can compare with the crazyness of the first trimester.
There's a lot of things that people don't tell you about pregnancy and its sympthoms, most women think that dizzyness and vomiting are the worst of them (or at least I think so) but we couldn't be more wrong! Trust me there's a lot of other things that you can hate having for months, but we'll talk about later in other post.
In conclusion, Everything during the first trimester sucks!

MY PREGNANCY:

November 2, 2013 I found that i'm pregnant!

That day was a typical day, I woke up early and because I had to do a lot of errands I didn't even had time to have some breakfast. Everything was doing perfectly fine, until I arrived to the bank; I was waiting on the line in order to pay some bills and suddenly I felt really really bad, my head was spinning, my mouth was dry and my blood pressure dropped so fast that I had to leave the bank right away; that gave me a hint but because I didn't have breakfast I wasn't really sure and I assumed I was just starving. As the day passed my head erased completely the incident.
Later the same day, I was working in my computer waiting for my husband to come home from work and suddenly I felt asleep with my computer still on my lap; I woke up 2 hours later in a pond of spittle and sweat (LOL) and that's when I knew I was pregnant! As soon as possible I ran to the drug store and bought the first pregnancy test that I saw and I was right...IT WAS POSITIVE!
It definitely wasn't planned...my husband and I only had 3 months of marriage (but 6 years of relationship) and we thought It'll take longer to us to get pregnant and we couldn't be more wrong LOL
Even though we were really happy and excited about what was going to come...
